Ocala, FL -
Seminole Feed is introducing 5 new horse feeds that offer consumers
a better value without sacrificing the quality and performance
of their feed.
With grain,
oil and fuel prices at an all-time high, many consumers are looking
to save money where they can – even in the feed room. However,
in an effort to keep the price per bag lower, some feed companies
are now including fillers such as peanut hulls or cotton seed
hulls in their feeds. “We are seeing a rise in the usage
of these poor quality ingredients in many feeds” states
Jill Haight, director of marketing for Seminole Feed. “Unfortunately
these ingredients are not well utilized by horses so the consumer
spends more money in the long-run. Either the horses stop thriving
as they once did, or horse owners find themselves increasing the
quantity of feed to maintain their horse’s body condition.”
Seminole Feed uses only top-quality ingredients in these classic
feeds. Recent trends in the horse feed industry, such as “high-fat”
or the inclusion of “flax seed,” add significant costs
to the feeds. While these additives are beneficial, most horses
will thrive and perform well on more traditional blends. For horses
that are “hard-keepers” a high-fat supplement such
as Seminole Ultra Bloom® can be included in the diet.
Seminole Pro-Plus
12 is a classic oat-based formulation with added lysine for growing,
breeding, pleasure and performance horses. This traditional feed
is ideal for the professional horse operation. Seminole Pro-Plus
12 is available in a pellet or sweet feed.
Seminole Sweet
Success is a textured feed with added beet pulp for performance
and pleasure horses. Beet pulp & soybean hulls are highly
digestible fiber sources and provide the needed calories for theworking
horse.
Seminole Mare
& Foal is a 16% protein feed with added lysine for growth
and is formulated with quality grains and digestible fibers. Seminole
Mare & Foal is recommend for foals, weanlings, yearlings and
late-gestation and lactating broodmares. Seminole Mare & Foal
is available in a pellet or a sweet feed.
These new
Seminole Feeds will be available mid-June of 2008.
